The Tuesday Test: Who Really Shows Up?

Who’s the person who will do boring sh*t with you?
Not the Bali trip. Not the birthday dinner. Not the promotion party.
The Tuesday.
Errands. Waiting rooms. A seminar they don’t care about — just because you do.
That’s the Tuesday Test.
A couple weekends ago, my mom joined me on a random grocery run.
I told her it wasn’t necessary.
She said, “It’s just to spend more time with you.”
That’s a Tuesday person.
Anyone can show up when it benefits them.
The rare ones show up despite no benefit.

Run every relationship through 3 Filters
1. The Boring Test
Will they sit through your thing — no payoff, no benefit…just because it matters to you?
2. The Friction Test
When plans shift or it gets inconvenient, do they pull away or lean in?
3. The Repetition Test
Will they do it again next week without expecting something in return, or keeping score?
Pass 2 of 3? Keep them close.
Pass all 3? Build around them.
Any less, be mindful.
The Quiet Math of Real Relationships
Peaks feel good.
Baselines build lives.
Fulfillment = Baseline × Consistency
Not the highlight nights.
The average Tuesday…repeated.
If someone raises your baseline, they raise your life.
Quick ways to see who ISN'T your Tuesday person
“Text me when it’s fun.”
Always around only for the next big plan.
Treats your interests like chores.
Keeps score.
Avoid or restrict exposure to protect happiness and peace.
7-Day Drill to run through
Day 1: Write down 5 people in your circle.
Day 3: Invite one to do something boring — errands, grocery run, seminar.
Day 7: Do it again with the same person.
Notice who leans in.
Then flip it and be their Tuesday person.
Love, friendship and trust — none of it is built in the good moments. It’s proven in the boring.
Most of life is Tuesdays.
Choose Tuesday people.
